Why Do We Testify?

REMEMBER for ourselves what God has done and to relive the moment

REMIND others what God has done and encourage them to expect the same

RELEASE the power of the testimony so that the miracle may be reproduced

THE POWER OF TESTIMONY

Revelation 12:11 (ESV): And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.

Testimony is spiritual warfare. You conquer your spiritual enemy by declaring the good things God has done. Satan’s lies can not withstand the truth of your testimony!

Revelation 19:10 (ESV): “Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Testimony is prophecy. Prophecy foretells what is to come, and when it happens, it becomes a testimony. But then the testimony becomes a prophecy, for it carries in itself the power to repeat the promise.

Testimony transforms the world. It is no exaggeration to say that world history has been shaped by the power of Christian testimony.

Jesus told the disciples that he would build his church upon the rock and the gates of hell would not prevail. And he commissioned them to fulfill this promise by telling the world his story and the story of believers. Jesus’ strategy for building his church is simple: tell your story!

Your story has the power to change the world. You need to know the power that your words release when you simply tell your story.
